Anime Zero Combat Controls: Attacks, Skills and Switching

Last updated 2026-10-05Unofficial player article

Find demonstrated Anime Zero keyboard attack, skill, weapon-switch and ultimate inputs, then check cooldown and unlock conditions.

These Anime Zero combat controls cover the keyboard inputs demonstrated in reviewed gameplay: basic attacks, three regular abilities, switching weapons and the ultimate. Practice them on a manageable stage before trying to learn a new kit during a difficult boss fight.

The gameplay below shows these actions in a dungeon. Watch the active weapon and its ability display as the player switches kits.

Keyboard input reference

Demonstrated Anime Zero attack and weapon controls
InputActionCondition
M1 / left mouse buttonBasic attackUse the active weapon's attack range
1, 2, 3Regular weapon abilitiesThe selected ability must be available
TSwitch equipped weaponEquip the intended pair before the run
GUltimateUnlock it through evolution and have its meter ready

The same number key belongs to a different ability after you switch to the other weapon. Check the active kit rather than assuming that pressing 1 always produces the same movement or attack shape. The ultimate also has conditions beyond remembering its input.

Learn movement from the visible game prompts

Use the movement and defensive prompts shown by the game or tutorial. This reference does not assign an unverified dash or block key. Before committing to an attack, give yourself space to move away from enemies. Watch whether an ability carries you toward the target or leaves you close to several attackers.

If a key appears unresponsive, check whether a text box or menu has focus, whether the ability is on cooldown, and which weapon is active. For G, also check evolution and the ultimate meter. Repeatedly pressing a unavailable ability does not replace these conditions.

Practice one action at a time

Start with basic attacks, then use each regular ability separately. Add T only once you recognize both kits. Finish the encounter with a familiar weapon if the new one becomes confusing; you can repeat the practice on the next run.

For timing those inputs, read ability rotation. If the controls work but the boss repeatedly defeats you, use boss strategy to review positioning and safe attack windows.

Use the live mode and reward panels in the official Anime Zero experience to confirm the current requirements for the run you are planning.
